Aaron and I had our first Christmas with Kinnick this evening. We decided Santa wasn't coming this year since the little guy wouldn't know the difference anyways but I did wrap a few small gifts for him. We decided to have our family christmas tonight because christmas eve and christmas day are both so full but with this weather who knows how the next few days will go.
Our Christmas tree.. The blue lights are actually just LED lights
The day started with my six week check up this morning and I was glad that everything turned out alright and I am NOT pregnant. I decided to go with Mirena and before they could place the IUD they had to check for pregnancy... I love Kinnick but I am surely not ready for another:) Kinnick has had a lot of raised red bumps on his face so I was anxious to ask what my midwife thought about it. She agreed with me and said that it looked like something more than baby acne and that he was possibly allergic to something. I have not changed anything and I did buy some Aveeno baby lotion that works on dry skin, even eczema and his face has cleared up quite a bit so I am just going to wait for his 2 month check up to see how it looks then.
Kinnick and I got home around noon and took a nap. I woke up to the pleasant smell of a dirty diaper... the second time today that he pooped out the side of the diaper... not sure how he manages it. Kinnick got a bath and then we started making chili for supper.
Aaron like any man waited until the last minute to do all his shopping so when he got off at six he had to go and get my gifts. He got me a beautiful clock (which I was really impressed with), jeans, collage picture frames, and some weights. I am always really excited for Aaron to open his gifts because I try to get him something that he really wants but this year he was kind of a snoop. I had bought him a nice air compressor and had my dad stash it in the basement under the stairs because Aaron is never down there but then I couldn't lift it to bring it upstairs to wrap it so he had already seen it yesterday. I did also get him a bow, jeans, a bunch of movies, sweatpants, and arrows. Kinnick got a bumbo chair, books, and a mirror for the car.
Also everyone has been asking how our dogs get along with Kinnick......
The other day he wouldn't stop crying and nothing I did would help so I laid him down on the bed for a little while and I came back and Gracie had jumped up and was pawing his stomach to try to console him... she also will whine if he is crying.. such a little mommy.
Gabby is not sure what to think about him but would love to lick him if we would let her.. she does get an occasional kiss in but for the most part we discourage her from licking his face.
Squirt must wonder when he is leaving because his Dad hasn't had as much time to throw the toy and Kinnick makes noise like his toys but doesn't play.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
